Card set: Basics “Storytelling

This “How to tell stories” card set provides you with all the basic information you need to work with and develop your own interactive stories.

From creativity and brainstorming methods for finding ideas, to characterising the characters, to creating your own plot and the final creation of an interactive story – you will find all the important steps on the compact cards. And if something is missing, the storytelling lab will help you with all the necessary details.

Voting cards

You are working on a media product together in class and are looking for a way to vote for the respective choices of further handouts? This is no problem with the help of the voting cards.

The two PDFs available for download here offer you two options:

  • Class set: With the help of the class set, all pupils receive a card from 1 to 5. Depending on the number of options to be voted for, the pupils put the corresponding cards on the table and finally vote for their preferred path. The path that has received the most votes is chosen for the rest of the story. Of course, you can have a short discussion in class beforehand. Some helpful questions can be found here: What made the students choose path XY? What do they expect from it? What impact, if any, could it have? What fears/thoughts do they have about the paths they did not choose?
  • Group voting: Lay out the large voting cards on the floor at some distance from each other – preferably in one corner of the room. If there is a vote to be taken, ask the students to stand up and assign themselves to the path they prefer. If there are only three choices in total, the students will naturally only assign themselves to voting cards 1, 2 or 3. The path with the most support is chosen for the rest of the activity.
